2024年9月9日から2025年1月23日、シンガポール・テマセクポリテクニックからの短期留学生が、谷口研究室(2名)、蒋研究室(1名)に所属して研究プロジェクトに取り組みました。
また、学内の国際交流活動であるInternational CaféやICPの活動にも参加し、本校の学生にとっても異文化に触れシンガポールの情報も知ることができる、とてもよい国際交流の機会になりました。

以下、3名の留学生、Ng Jun Yong Javierさん、Leow Hua Yiさん、Wang Xin Yueさんの留学体験レポートをご紹介します。
Embarking on an internship at NIT Kitakyushu KOSEN was truly an unforgettable experience—one that blended cultural immersion with personal and professional growth. As a group of Singaporean students, we were fortunate to dive into a new academic environment while collaborating with Japanese peers on exciting projects.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by both students and teachers. Their hospitality made us feel right at home and ensured that we had an enriching time. One of the most memorable moments was the Somen party, where we got to enjoy traditional Japanese food and connect with our peers in a fun, relaxed setting.
Our cultural journey didn’t stop there. The international meeting activity became a memorable experience for us, where we could chat with local students, learning more about each other’s cultures. Participating in the school festival was another highlight—getting an authentic taste of Japanese traditions was an experience we’ll never forget.
Living in the dormitories was a fantastic part of our stay too. We were welcomed not only by Japanese students but also by others from around the world. Everyone shared their experiences and helped us adjust to life in Japan. The friendships we formed made our time there even more special.
As for the work, our projects ranged from robotics to data analysis and machine learning. It was hands-on learning at its best, allowing us to sharpen our technical skills while also teaching us the value of precision and problem-solving under pressure.
Working alongside Japanese students was a real eye-opener. Despite language barriers, we were able to communicate effectively, building strong relationships based on mutual respect. It really highlighted the importance of teamwork and adapting to new environments skills that will stay with me for a long time.
Looking back, this internship at NIT Kitakyushu KOSEN wasn’t just about academics it was a transformative experience that expanded my horizons in ways I hadn’t imagined. I’m incredibly grateful for everything I learned, and I’m excited to carry these lessons forward into my future endeavours.

北九州高専でのインターンシップは本当に忘れられない経験でした。私たちは、日本の仲間と協力してプロジェクトに取り組むことができました。
到着した時から、学生と先生の両方から温かく熱意を持って迎えられました。最も印象に残っている1つは、日本食を楽しみ、楽しくリラックスして仲間とつながることができたそうめんパーティーでした。
他にも、学生達とおしゃべりをしたり、お互いの文化について学んだり、また、高専祭に参加したことも、忘れられない思い出深い経験となりました。寮生活も私たちの滞在の素晴らしい部分でした。日本人学生だけでなく、留学生達も歓迎してくれました。みんなが自分の経験を共有し、日本での生活に慣れるのを助けてくれました。私たちが築いた友情は、特別なものになりました。
私たちのプロジェクトはロボティクスからデータ分析、機械学習まで多岐にわたりました。実践的な学習であり、技術的なスキルを磨くと同時に、精度と問題解決の能力も身に着けることができました。
